Happy 2010 Y'all! Well it's been
just about two years
exactly since I released my debut album, "River of Life".
Come the first of June, it'll be two years since the family
and I first arrived in
Austin. Whew! Where does the time go?
Last April we started cuttin' tracks for what is about to be the second
release, "Way Back Home". It was just after Easter when I was joined
by my friends JordanTietlebaum (drums), Steve Sarber (guitar)
and Andrew Carrell
(bass) to cut tracks for a new song I had
written, "Facebook Song" I knew this was the
band I wanted to
make a record with. Over the course of the next 7 or 8 months
we got together
a handful of more times to cut the rest
of the record. In September, Pete Weiss(accordion)
joined the fun and there's even appearance's by
Tamineh Guaramy (fiddle, vocals)
AND my wife, Carrie
sings with me on a couple. How cool is that?!
I've spent the last month or so mixin' and yesterday
it went
off for mastering. It's been a ball and we're
all
real excited about it!
Starting today, Jan, 9th we'll be taking preorders for
"Way
Back Home". We should be receiving the finished
product around the first of February and anyone
that
preorders
will receive:
-Their CD before it is available online.
-Their CD will be Autographed
-The first 100 receive a bonus CD with songs that are not on the record.
Preordering is also very much appreciated here at the
Charkansas Ranch because most of the money
comes back
here at a much needed time. Releasing a record and getting
it heard requires
quite a bit of cabbage, my friends.
Good advertising and promotion can cost upwards of $15,000.
We are putting up a donate button for those that have it to
spare and would like to donate
to the cause....
Well, the last couple years have been some of the best
in my life,
that's for sure! Thanks so much to everyone
that has supported me and my music over
the years.
Can't tell you what it means!
Peace!
AJ
