Well, tommorrow morning makes it one week in Austin. Whew what a week!! Thanks to those that have been supportive. Met a lot of folks already. Started right off the bat placing adds on craigslist for musicians. Got quite a few responses. I think I learned a little bit from all of them. Thanks! Pretty darn sure I closed the deal on the beginnings of the Texas Buick 6. I'll follow up on that later.

That being said, the focus is now on getting the gigs. I played a songwriters night with some pretty big hitters on the "Texas Country" scene. Zach Walthers and another fella, I'm not even gonna try and remember his name. I'm terrible with that. Anyway, they were amazing. I guess I didn't do too bad myself. Got to see Kevin Welch play a few before the writers deal. That was awesome! Another guy I'd never heard of, Stony Larue played with him. Now that guy is one to watch!!  Monday I met Kim Deschamps and his wife Karen. Great people, Kim responded to my craigslist add, check him out in my top friends on myspace. He's got quite a resume. They invited me to the Mean Eyed Cat to catch a Sam Harris show. Wow!! There's another amazing talent. Jimmy Lafave was at the show. The fine Deschamps introduced me to both. Both were very cool and welcoming. I got a feelin' Sam and I are gonna be Buddy's before it's over. He's crazier than I am!!

OK, back to the Buick6. I start rehearsals by weeks end with my new friend and band leader Brent Warnock and an upright player I've not been introduced to yet. Brent is originally from Houston and plays Banjo, Dobro and Mandolin. He was a 2 time state champion Banjo player. This is gonna be a blast!!!!!

Well it's late and I'm gonna crash. Take Care everybody!!
